Biography

Kit has deep roots in Saturday morning music schools, playing his recorder as a young child at the music workshop in his home town of New Ash Green, Kent. A few years on, after classical training on the piano, he took to the guitar and attempted to teach himself everything from Abba to Zeppelin. In 1997, Kit joined the Gravesham Youth Jazz Orchestra, directed by trombonist Graham Mann.

In 2000 Kit moved to Norwich to study at the UEA, where he subsequently started his own guitar teaching business. He gained an ABRSM Certificate of Teaching in 2005 and has since been teaching guitar and leading bands on a regular basis. With much performance experience from the stage, studio and the orchestra pit, Kit blends repertoire, rudiments and improvisation in his teaching. Recently Kit has also directed the West Suffolk Youth Big Band and performed several shows with Norfolk-based septet "Bootleg Swing".
