About the Drama Course

Led by accomplished drama practitioners, this dynamic programme introduces students to the essential skills of theatre-making while empowering them to collaborate, communicate and express themselves with confidence.

Who is it for?

This course welcomes GYA Online students aged 10–18 of all abilities. No prior drama experience is required. Students are grouped by age so they can work, learn and perform alongside peers in a fun and supportive setting.

What can I expect? 

Explore acting techniques, movement, voice work and ensemble performance. The course builds toward a group piece performed on stage, celebrating the students’ creativity and teamwork. 

You can expect:

  • Professional-level drama workshops delivered with warmth and energy
  • Activities that develop imagination, stagecraft and storytelling skills
  • Opportunities to create original scenes and characters
  • A strong sense of community and shared achievement
  • A final group performance for families and friends

Every participant contributes to the creative process, ensuring that the performance reflects the unique strengths and ideas of the group.

Do I need anything?

Students should wear comfortable clothes they can move in. All scripts, materials and creative resources will be provided.

Meet the Course Leader

This course is led by Tash Moore, Drama and Singing Tutor for Guildhall Young Artists Online.

Tash trained in Musical Theatre at Guildford School of Acting and has worked professionally in a variety of stage shows. Acting highlights include playing Brooke in Noises Off, Columbia in The Rocky Horror Show and Miranda in both The Tempest and the musical adaptation of this play, Return to the Forbidden Planet. She has also worked in TV and film on the other side of the camera with industry-leading companies such as Left Bank Pictures, Hat Trick Productions, the BBC and more recently in the commissioning department at Channel 4 Television. In 2023 Tash completed six months as Interim Head at Guildhall Young Artists Taunton and returned recently to teach piano and singing. Tash continues to work as a Director/Musical Director on local professional and amateur theatre productions.
