Biography & Pure profile
Specialist Area: Lighting and Set design
What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?
For the third project, the circus show, I officially designed the play for the first time as a set and costume designer. Because my educational background is in lighting design, I've always wanted to try my hand at stage design. So with this attempt, I became more confident to stick to set design in my future work.
What's been your highlight in the industry?
I have stuck with doing lighting design for children's theatre since my freshman year in 2017. I think it's important to stick with this children's theatre because it gets more young children interested in drama and theatre, which will help develop theatre afterwards.
What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?
I think it was the second project, Georgie and Gadget, in which I first learned about the process of making small puppets and the choice of materials. In this project, I made a puppet independently, and I really enjoyed the process of making it.
What area are you most interested in working in after you graduate?
I will stick to lighting design and do my best to contribute to the set design. I also want to collaborate with more directors and creative teams to produce productions that are more innovative and inspiring to the public. I hope that more people will choose to come to the theatre and learn about theatre.
