Biography & Pure profile
What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?
My highlight during my time at Guildhall so far was working as ASM on Intimate Apparel. The show, set in early 20th century New York, was designed with great attention to detail and period accuracy. It was a real challenge to prop in less than three weeks, with a lot of the Production Team and Creatives working remotely due to Covid. It was a true bonding experience for the whole Stage Management team. I’m grateful for this wonderful group of people helped me adapt my practice quickly and, perhaps more importantly, who knew how to make the process fun!
What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?
I think flexibility and confidence in embracing any challenge that comes my way are the two main lessons. I’ve been lucky to gain experience on a wide variety of productions so far – from big-scale opera to filmed new writing pieces – and found that I really enjoy fast paced environments and figuring out the logistics that come with a new project. And above all, I learned the importance of a work environment built on kindness and positive attitude.
What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?
I'm interested in music-based performance, especially opera. I think there's just nothing quite like being so close to music and being able to facilitate this process. In my second year at Guildhall, I also enjoyed prop sourcing, and I think I'd like to explore this more professionally, perhaps as a props buyer.
