Guildhall School musicians offer a rousing programme of orchestral and jazz works to begin the new Academic year.
In the first half of the concert, Richard Strauss's majestic Festliches Präludium is followed by Sir William Walton's celebrated cantata, a true feast for the ears, featuring the Guildhall School Chorus.
After the interval outstanding Guildhall School jazz musicians take to the stage for Duke Ellington's Such Sweet Thunder – the legendary jazz composer's Shakespeare-inspired suite which includes pieces such as Lady Mac and The Star-Crossed Lovers.
