Guildhall Little BIG Double Reed Days

Visit Guildhall School of Music & Drama on Sunday 12 October 2025 for our the first of our 'Little' BIG Double Reed Days.

We are delighted to invite young oboists and bassoonists aged 7 to 14 to take part in our 'Little' BIG Double Reed Days, designed to support and inspire the next generation of double reed players.

Across two Sundays this autumn, participants will enjoy a varied and engaging programme of activities tailored to all levels of experience, from complete beginners to more advanced young musicians.

Taking place at Guildhall School’s Silk Street and Milton Court venues, this is a wonderful opportunity for young players to develop their skills, make new friends, and experience music-making in a friendly and encouraging environment.

Sunday 12 October

This 'Little' Day on 12 October is focused on ensemble playing, with preparation for a concert on Sunday 2 November at the BIG Double Reed Day. We welcome players of all abilities.

The closing time for this event is 2.30pm or 4pm. When you have made your booking, we will allocate you to a group and let you know your finish time.

Sunday 2 November

This 'Little' Day runs alongside the BIG Double Reed Day (which is for ages 15+) taking place on the same day. After the 'Little' events finish at 2pm you are welcome to stay on in the afternoon for masterclasses, reed-making classes, and the trade stands in Silk Street.

Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend and observe on both days – your presence is welcome and free of charge.
