
Congratulations to the Guildhall School alumni among the nominees at this year's Olivier Awards.
Hayley Atwell (Acting 2005) has been nominated in the ‘Best Actress’ category for her role in Rosmersholm at the Duke of York’s Theatre. Alumnus Neil Austin (Technical Theatre 1992) has been nominated for ‘Best Lighting Design’ for his work on Rosmersholm. The production also picked up nominations for ‘Best Revival’, ‘Best Set Design’ and ‘Best Sound Design’.
Andy Nyman (Acting 1987) has been nominated for ‘Best Actor in a Musical’ for his role in Fiddler on the Roof at the Playhouse Theatre. The production has also been nominated for ‘Best Musical Revival’, ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Theatre Choreographer’, ‘Best Original Score & New Orchestrations’ and ‘Best Actor in a Supporting Role’ for Stuart Clarke.
The Ocean At The End Of The Lane at the National Theatre has been nominated in the ‘Best New Play’ category. The production features Acting alumni Samuel Blenkin (Acting 2017) and Justin Salinger (Acting 1996) and has also been nominated for ‘Best Lighting’ and ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role’ for Josie Walker.
Amélie the Musical, featuring alumnus Chris Jared (Acting 2008) has been nominated for ‘Best Original Score or New Orchestrations’.
The Jette Parker Young Artists have been nominated in the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Opera’ category for their performances in Berenice, Death In Venice and Phaedra. Guildhall alumni Filipe Manu (Opera 2019), Patrick Milne (Piano 2017) and Edmund Whitehead (Piano 2015) all worked on Phaedra as part of the Young Artists Scheme.
