What has been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

Coming to Guildhall not only from a different country but during Covid, a big highlight has been seeing all the work we have produced being realised. I am very grateful to have been working with so many talented and remarkable people who are all committed to making all of our productions work, have been a truly unique and wonderful experience.

What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?

I have been able to explore my love for new writing and producing, working closely with a group of then second-year actors to realise a brand-new and ground-breaking play called “Camp Drill” written by Westerfield Shoderu and performed at the student bar. I know I would not have been able to make this piece of theatre happen had it not been for my training at Guildhall.

What’s something you have learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?

A thing my time at Guildhall has made me recognise is how much of a team sports theatre is. Every single person and department is equally vital in the process of putting on a show. At Guildhall, I’ve had the opportunity to work beyond stage management as a production assistant and costume assistant. Seeing things from a different perspective has taught me a lot about how we all need to work towards the common goal and not get caught up in our departments. The same goes for working closely with the actors and opera singers - we need each other and should be very grateful for each other’s work.

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

I wouldn’t want to limit myself to one thing, as I think every genre has something to teach and give. However, I would love to work for small-scale theatre companies, that produce contemporary plays about what the world looks like right now and can inspire the next generation of theatre-goers and makers.
