About the performers
Formed in East London, this six-piece band brings an individuality that “no one else is doing” (Michael Spearman of Everything Everything). Featuring Guildhall musicians and UAL alum Paige Janey, they deliver dramatic narrative-driven sets. Having released their debut single and video, they’re now recording a full EP, drawing on Sparks, Black Country New Road, Kate Bush, Kae Tempest, and Alex Harvey.
Self-described as "emotronic art rock gremlins," Bugbear are an up-and-coming duo bringing their unreleased debut EP to Charge: BAND. They’ve been refining their live show across the London indie circuit, with stops at The Windmill, The George Tavern, and The Shacklewell Arms. Their songs host strange, surreal characters… most notably Penelope, their homemade papier-mâché goblin.
Secretary Bird is a punk-driven alternative rock band formed at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. For fans of Xiu Xiu, The Sugarcubes, Talking Heads, and Sonic Youth, Secretary Bird combines violent guitar riffs and punky vocals with jazz-funk bass and haunting electric violin.
