Biography

Richard Jones is a British Jazz violinist recognised for his innovative sound, approach and adaptability in bringing the violin to life within a broad range of musical contexts. He spent a number of years writing and touring with blues/rock band Kill it Kid, before moving to London to complete his MMus in Jazz at Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2012. 

Since then, Richard has worked with a broad range of UK artists and particularly enjoys working within the Jazz/World Music scene. Some notable recent collaborators include; Nicolas Meier, Christine Tobin, Robert Mitchell, Mark Edwards, Gabrielle Ducomble. Alongside his work as a performer, Richard is in regular demand as a session player and educator. He currently teaches at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, as well as leading education projects within the Borough of Ealing and beyond.
