Biography

Rob is Bass Clarinettist of the Orchestra of English National Opera (ENO), Professor of Bass Clarinet and Clarinet at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and a visiting clarinet teacher at Eton College.

Rob spent many happy Saturdays at the Junior Department of Guildhall. He is a graduate of the Royal College of Music where he studied with John McCaw and Colin Bradbury. As a postgraduate, Rob studied with Angela Malsbury at the Royal Academy of Music, and on completion of his studies he was awarded the Queen's Commendation for Excellence. In 2010 he became an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.

Before joining ENO, Rob was a member of the Northern Sinfonia and over the years he has worked with the majority of the UK's orchestras and ensembles.
