Biography

Adrian Rowlands is widely acknowledged as one of the finest reed-makers in the music profession.

He has taught oboe and oboe reed-making at the Guildhall Advanced Oboe Summer School, and at the Benslow Music Trust Oboe Days.

Since 1988 he has been the principal oboe in the legendary London West End production of Les Miserables, at both the Palace Theatre and the Queens Theatre. Adrian is widely sought after as a freelance player, working with orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, on oboe, cor anglais and also bass oboe.

Adrian’s recordings include albums with the Gabrieli Consort and Players, directed by Paul McCreesh, and the King’s College Choir, Cambridge, conducted by Sir Stephen Cleobury.
