Biography

Alena Walentin is known as one of​​ the most versatile young flautists, combining international career as a soloist, chamber musician and guest principal flute with leading orchestras. She often works as a workshop leader, adjudicator, chamber music teacher and teaches flute and chamber music at several leading institutions, including Guidlhall School of Music and Drama, Royal Conservatorie Birmingham and Royal Conservatoire The Hague (Netherlands).

She has also given masterclasses at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, Ponte Cultura music course in France, ESMAE and Academia de Música de Vilar do Paraíso in Portugal, Singapore Flute Festival, William Bennett International Flute Summer School and Dartington Summer School & Festival.

Alena has performed solo works with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and has given numerous concerts in the major concert halls throughout Europe, North America and Asia and served as a Vice-Chair of the British Flute Society. Alena has performed as a guest Principal flute with many orchestras, including the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Iceland Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonia and MusicAeterna.
