What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

My highlight so far has been Lighting Designing for Summer Projects which enabled me to work closely with a series of talented student and professional video designers and artists on live performances and video shoots. These projects included ‘Refractions’ moving screens and a shoot for ‘Waswasa’ by Soul City Arts. The exposure to collaboration with professionals and new, advanced technologies pushed my designs and practice as a Lighting Designer.

What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?

Working on productions at Guildhall has taught me a lot about the importance of good communication and inter-personal skills. I believe that empathy for and understanding of other departments is essential to be a good theatre practitioner.

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

I’m interested in working with new writing and thrive off being part of research & development processes. I’m passionate about theatre which represents people from typically under-represented backgrounds, especially feminist and LGBTQ+ pieces. I also find myself drawn to theatre with music and immersivity to amplify audience experience.
