Biography

Annely started learning the violin and piano from the age of nine at the local Children’s Music School in her home country of Estonia. She gained her degree in primary education with music specialism at Tallinn University in 1998. After a gap year in the US Annely worked as an EFL teacher at Tallinn Grammar School while studying English language and literature at Tartu University. Her career as a music teacher started in 2003 when she moved to the UK. She has been working in many primary and secondary schools in Norfolk teaching whole classes as well as individual instrumental lessons. Annely has conducted several choirs and string ensembles who have achieved excellent results at the Norfolk County Music Festival.

Annely is also an experienced choral singer who has toured Europe with Ad Libitum, a mixed choir of Tallinn University. More recently she has enjoyed singing in the choir of the Norwich Philharmonic.

Over the years Annely has attended numerous national and international courses and has developed her own pedagogy based on Kodaly and Suzuki methods. As a trained music therapist her special interest is working with neurodiverse children.

In her spare time Annely enjoys reading, running, and family holidays in Estonia.
