Biography

Ingrid’s teaching career started with the Sheila Nelson String Project in Tower Hamlets and continues with her work for GYA and the Venezuelan-inspired Sistema project in Norwich, as well as a small inclusive private teaching practice including adult returners.

Her freelance performance career in London comprises work mainly in theatre and dance, including the National Theatre and the RSC, for recordings including Heaven 17, Elvis Costello and The Bangles, and with chamber ensembles.

Since settling in Norwich she has played with the Rojas String Quartet and provides music for functions including launches, dinner parties and funerals as solo cellist as well as with the Astor String Quartet, for clients such as the Norfolk and Norwich Festival Friends at Raveningham Hall.

Lockdown projects included an online writers and music webinar with author Sarah Bower hosted by the National Centre for Writing, a livestreamed concert of contemporary Latin-American music from the Theatre Royal and a virtual recording of Mr Blue Sky with the Self Isolation String Quartet, as well as extensive individual and ensemble teaching.

Ingrid also runs music-led baby massage classes online and in person.

Ingrid is cello tutor, ensemble and orchestra coach, Lead for Primary Years music and Event Coordinator.
