Biography

Adam started his musical training at an early age on the violin, before moving to clarinet and percussion with Barnet Music Services (now BEAT). Percussion quickly became his main passion and he continued his performance studies at Colchester Institute and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, obtaining a 1st class BA (Hons) and an MMus with distinction respectively.

Playing work has taken Adam all over the world and across many genres - from drumming in the jazz combos and show bands of Caribbean cruise ships to playing percussion with the National Symphony Orchestra. Passionate about performance, Adam has also spent almost a decade supporting European tours including ABBA the Show, Jim Thirlwell, Phildel and Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells. Recording credits include Decca records, Warner Bros, BBC Radio 3 and 4, EMI Publishing and Universal Music.

Adam's main passion lies in education and promotion of the arts. Aside from his role as Percussion Coordinator for JGSMD, he works as a tutor at Framlingham College and Felsted School, as a regular coach for the youth orchestras of Essex Music Hub. He also works with The Royal Opera House, supporting schools in developing creative and cultural education for ROH East.
