Biography

Pianist and teacher Daria Bitsiuk (BMus, MMus, PGCert in Performance Teaching) began playing the piano at the age of six. For over two decades, Daria has been playing in solo, chamber music and orchestral concerts across Europe. She is based in the UK, and has taught in Ukraine, Portugal, and China, where she also adjudicated the 2018 Steinway Competition China. Daria studied piano performance and performance teaching in Kyiv at the Lysenko Specialist Music School and the Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, in Manchester at the Royal Northern College of Music, and in London at the Guildhall School.

Working with other musicians is an important part of Daria’s musical journey. She has dedicated much of her life to co-creating choral, orchestral and chamber music projects, as well as playing and recording new music, including for film. She recorded music by London-based composer Aleah Morrison-Basu for the album Evolving Reflexions.

Daria’s pedagogical approach is grounded on the teaching tradition of her former tutor Norma Fisher, as well as years of concert performing and performance teaching experience, and professional development. Daria is a piano teacher at Junior Guildhall and Trinity schools, and an ABRSM examiner.
