Biography
Ellie Lovegrove enjoys a freelance career, performing with a large variety of orchestras, small ensembles, sessions, shows, and solo engagements. Orchestral work includes the BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, English National Ballet, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, and Britten Sinfonia. She has also performed on period instrument at The London Handel Festival and with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Ellie is a founder member of the Trumpet and Organ duo, Illumina, releasing their first CD for Convivium Records in October 2017. They regularly give recitals in venues including St Paul’s Cathedral, Fairfield Halls Croydon and St Martin-in-the-Fields, and Queens College, Oxford, where they have performed world premieres of works they have commissioned. Commercially, Ellie has performed with Brad Mehldau, Seal, Sister Sledge, and regularly plays in ‘Les Miserables’ (Queen’s Theatre, London West End). She has also played for ‘Chicago the Musical’ (Phoenix Theatre, London West End), and held the first Trumpet chair for the Royal Shakespeare Company in their Barbican “Rome” productions. When not performing, or teaching at Junior Guildhall, Ellie enjoys trying to keep up with her Spanish Greyhound, Cece, and can proudly cook many curries from scratch.
