Biography

Rosie Bowker is a versatile flautist who enjoys a varied career as a chamber and orchestral musician on modern and historical flutes.

Rosie performs chamber music across the UK and in Norway with Pocket Sinfonia and the Bowker-Myslek Duo. With these ensembles, Rosie has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, selected as a REMA (European Early Music Network) Showcase Artist, and toured Scotland as a Tunnell Trust Award winner. Pocket Sinfonia has appeared at festivals including Oslo Kammermusikkfestival and Brighton Early Music Festival, and always includes spontaneous elements in performances.

Rosie has performed concertos with Academy of Ancient Music/Guildhall Baroque Orchestra side-by side, Divertimento Strings and the Commonwealth Youth Orchestra. She was on the Handel House Talent Scheme.

Rosie has worked with orchestras including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE), The English Concert, London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

Rosie also uses improvisation in outreach work with LSO Discovery, OAEducation and Live Music Now.
