What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

The highlight of my time at Guildhall would be getting the opportunity to work on multiple period operas, in which I could expand my knowledge on different time periods and be able to work with industry professionals at the same time. While learning to make, alter and dress costumes of these different time periods.

What's been your highlight in the industry?

The first industry project that I worked on was Leeds Nest Fest for their Leeds City of Culture event, where I helped with the fittings and dressing out in an open field with around 50 Actors of all ages. This play spoke on the migration of birds and climate change, and was performed at a big open space on a nature reserve and allowed me to learn to work in a different space than a theatre and working with unpredictable things such as weather.

What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?

During my time at Guildhall, as well as being allowed to work on different shows/ Operas. In costume, we were also allowed to work on a personal project where we could explore our making/ designing capabilities. For this project, I chose to design and make a tutu inspired by the Sleeping Beauty ballet that would be performed in. I created a 12-layer classical tutu with an attached bodice. This gave me a great opportunity to develop my making skills and work on my independent skills as a practitioner.

What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?

I feel like all the skills I have learned throughout guildhall will help me when I graduate from learning time management and how to juggle more than one project at a time to the team work and communication skills I have learned when working on a production, to all of the making and altering skills I learnt through our costume lessons and then got to further develop through the productions.

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

I think I am most interested in getting the opportunities to work in all elements of the industry, such as TV/ film, as well as musicals, dramas, and Operas
