Julian Anderson Incantesimi
Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet (selection from suites)
Stravinsky The Rite of Spring

Guildhall Symphony Orchestra presents a dynamic programme of 20th-century masterpieces exploring magic, myth and elemental power under the baton of guest conductor Kerem Hasan.

Guildhall Masters student Antoine Veillerette conducts the opening piece of the concert: Julian Anderson’s shimmering Incantesimi, with its luminous orchestral colours. Kerem Hasan then takes to the podium for Prokofiev’s vivid scenes from Romeo and Juliet, brimming with energy and emotion.

The evening culminates in music from another ballet: Stravinsky’s revolutionary The Rite of Spring – a work whose primal rhythms and daring harmonies changed music forever.
