Benjamin Britten’s haunting opera Owen Wingrave returns to the stage in a powerful new Guildhall School production. Based on a ghost story by Henry James, it follows a young pacifist who defies his family’s military heritage, with tragic consequences.

Written originally for television, Britten’s score fuses intimacy and drama in a compelling exploration of courage, conscience and the cost of defiance.
