Daniel McDermott (Theatre Technology)

What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall? 

I have found that Guildhall has helped me build confidence with how I hold myself and in what I am able to do. I feel the main highlight has been being able to work with so many different people, from students to industry professionals alike. I have been able to work with students in varying specialities, which has taught me new skills, and learning from the freelancers that are brought in for us is a great opportunity to experience modern skills and ways of working. 

What is something you have learned that you feel will help you when you graduate? 

One skill that I feel will definitely help me is the ability to work with anybody. A lot of my time at Guildhall has been spent working and communicating with a wide range of people. This has taught me how to do so, even if maybe you do not get along on a friendship level. This will help me out in the industry after I graduate due to the wide-ranging nature of the industry.

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate 

I am most interested in working as part of the stage crew and am really interested in doing this from the touring perspective.
