Event information

Before Guildhall Symphony Orchestra's performance of Messiaen's Turangalîla-Symphonie in Barbican Hall, Guildhall mezzo soprano Alexandra Achillea Pouta and pianist Élisabeth Pion perform the French composer's epic song cycle, Harawi, in Milton Court Concert Hall.

Written in 1945, Harawi - Chant d'amour et de mort (Songs of love and death) is, like Turangalîla, inspired by the legend of Tristan and Isolde.

Elisabeth Pion and Alexandra Pouta are grateful recipients of the Jane Ades Ingenuity Scholarship in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
