Join us for our upcoming annual Viola Day, taking place on Monday 10 November 2025 from 10am – 4.30pm. The day will feature masterclasses and performances with Guildhall's Viola Professors (including Matthew Jones, Scott Dickinson and Sarah-Jane Bradley) and performances from current students, as well as masterclasses for visiting violists.
During our event, we will host legendary violist and composer Garth Knox, who will lead a workshop on his unique approach to contemporary viola technique through his own composition for viola ensemble, the "Marin Marais Variations".

Venue information
Silk Street Theatre, Music Hall and Lecture Recital Room are located in the main Guildhall School building on Silk Street and for Barbican produced events the venue can also be accessed from the Barbican if you exit via the doors next to Barbican Kitchen on Level G.
