Biography

Jonathan is a horn player and teacher based in Hertfordshire, UK. Since graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music he has pursued a portfolio career covering multiple aspects of the music profession.

As a performer he regularly works with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the UK. He has undertaken trial periods with the Hallé, Opera North, Manchester Camerata and Northern Chamber Orchestra. Performed multiple televised Proms with both the Hallé and BBC Philharmonic. He has performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and toured internationally with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Hallé, BBC Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata. He has recorded and toured with artists across many genres, including The Who, Dione Warwick, Marillion and Lewis Capaldi.

Alongside his performing career Jonathan works extensively in the world of music education. Current positions include Head of Brass at Highgate School,  horn teacher at Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Uppingham School and Oakham School. Previously he has been horn teacher at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music, Huddersfield University and held the position of musician in residence at the Royal School for the Blind, Liverpool.

Alongside his work in the music profession, he has undertaken a physiotherapy degree. In this role he specialised in working with endurance athletes.
