Biography

Noël Tredinnick is a British conductor who, additionally, works extensively as a composer, organist, lecturer. broadcaster, and worship-leader, of world-wide renown. For 48 years (1971-2019), Noël was the Organist and Director of Music at All Souls Church Langham Place in the heart of London's West End. He continues as a longstanding Professor of Conducting and Academic Studies at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he initially started teaching in May 1975. For 40 years, as both a Director of Jubilate Hymns Ltd/ Resound Worship, and more recently as the Patron of the Song and Hymn Writers' Foundation, he has been at the forefront of the production of new songs and modernized language for Christian worship. He has authored over 50 published musical compositions of his own and is best known as a forthright and accomplished musical arranger. He is a recognised, former, conductor of BBC TV's Songs of Praise programme and now, since 2016, a daily broadcaster on Premier Radio.

Noël's legendary contribution to music ministry resulted in the establishment of the All Souls Orchestra (in 2022, the orchestra celebrated its 50 years of ministry) and a world-leading, innovative, music department at All Souls Church. In recognition of his lifetime of service to church music and music education, Noël has been awarded three accolades to date: a Lambeth DMus (2002), a Fellowship of the Royal School of Church Music (2009), and a BEM (British Empire Medal) bestowed on him by Queen Elizabeth II in her Birthday Honours in June 2021. When he can, he tours parts of the world, notably in Europe, the USA, Australia, and in Africa, as a lecturer, inspirational speaker, and musical director.

For relaxation, Noël enjoys visits with friends and family to theatres, concert halls, cinemas, and the Emirates Stadium. He also has a life-long love of country (trail) and hill walking and an appreciation of architecture. Noël is married to Fiona, a retired schoolteacher, and they reside in South East London (UK). Together they have a daughter, Isabel, and a son, James.
