Guildhall School of Music & Drama ranked top conservatoire in the 2021 People and Planet University League

Of the 154 universities assessed in this year’s People and Planet University League Table, Guildhall School of Music & Drama is ranked 50th and has been awarded a 2:1 classification.

The School is also ranked top independent* conservatoire for 2021 and is among the top 20 institutions overall for Carbon Management.

The People & Planet University League is the only comprehensive and independent league table of UK universities ranked by environmental and ethical performance. It is compiled annually by the UK’s largest student campaigning network, People & Planet.

In the previous published league table in 2019, Guildhall School was ranked 77th and given a 2:2 classification, marking a major improvement and commitment to sustainable practice this year.

Charlotte Lythgoe, the Barbican and Guildhall School’s Continual Improvement Manager for Sustainability said: ‘This improvement is a great testament to the efforts of Guildhall students, staff and our community. With our aim of continual improvement in mind, we hope to further increase the score for future years to come.’
