Biography

Rebecca joined the Drama Dept in November 2021 as EA to Eliot Shrimpton who was Interim Programme Leader for BA Hons Acting course.

Rebecca has a background in theatre and radio as a performer, director and producer and worked in public engagement with internationally renowned scientists from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from 2008 – 2017.

In 2016, through her production company The Mustard Club she partnered with Digital Drama to produce a community-based collaboration using drama and archival materials on a National Heritage Lottery Funded Project, ‘Resurrecting the Shakespeare Hut’ part of the Shakespeare 400 festival and World War One centenary commemorations. The project explored the history and legacy of the YMCA Shakespeare Hut that stood on LSHTM’s Keppel Street site between 1916/1919, providing shelter and entertainment from leading actors of the day such as Fabia Drake and Ellen Terry, to ANZAC soldiers on leave in London.

Rebecca has taught Performing Arts in Further and Higher Education and has lead workshops and activities in collaboration with The Science Gallery London, Kings College Doctoral Studies Programme, the British Library and Resonance FM, in London, Europe, Tanzania, the Cameroon and Uganda.
