Laura Alexander-Smith (Stage Management)

What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

Running my wing during Red Velvet was a real highlight of my past year. It was a busy show with many scene changes and I really enjoyed creating and running my track. I loved working with the company of actors and the technical team to create such a compact show.

What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?

I have loved being able to shadow the stage management teams on various West End shows. It was a great insight into the industry and professional working practice which I can apply to my work at Guildhall.

What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?

My time at Guildhall has allowed me to work in a variety of venues teaching me how to adapt to different restrictions. Rehearsing externally has also been a great opportunity with many aspects that I can take with me into the industry. 

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

After I have graduated I am really interested in working within Stage Management for Opera and Ballet on both larger festivals and smaller studio stages.
