Course Overview

During the day participants will take part in core technique sessions including voice, movement, improvisation and Shakespeare. The course will explore the full creative process, from initial ideas through to rehearsal and sharing work.

This residential programme offers an extended, immersive learning experience, combining expert‑led drama activity during the day with opportunities to play games and socialise with new-found friends in the evening.

All residential activity is supervised by our experienced residential and pastoral team, ensuring participants are safe, supported and encouraged throughout their time with us.

Who is the course for?

The courses are open to all experience levels for participants aged 13-17 - whether you're new to drama or already performing, you'll find a supportive space to grow, take creative risks and develop your craft.

You can expect to:
  • Explore acting and theatre‑making with expert tutors
  • Develop practical performance skills, confidence and creativity
  • Build independence, teamwork and communication skills in a supportive environment
  • Meet like‑minded young people and have fun
  • Learn and create in a residential setting

Groups may be organised by age to ensure appropriate challenge and support. While each strand offers a complete creative journey, all groups work within a shared thematic framework, encouraging dialogue and connection across the entire summer school.

Days are carefully structured to balance intensive practical sessions, creative exploration, and time to rest and socialise during the evenings and weekends:

  • Weekdays typically begin with ensemble warm‑ups followed by skills classes and project work led by experienced tutors; with regular breaks scheduled throughout the day.

  • Evenings and weekends include a mix of creative activity, social time and relaxation, all supervised by our residential team to ensure a safe, supportive and enjoyable experience.
