Short Courses & Summer Schools

We offer a wide range of short courses across music, drama, production arts and other art forms. Whether you’re thinking about learning something completely new, exploring a hobby or passion, or just brushing up on existing skills, we have something for you.

Join us from home, wherever you are in the world, with our programme of Online Short Courses.

In person teaching is currently suspended, but you can register your interest for our Summer Schools. You’ll be the first to know should they go ahead.

Led by Guildhall School teachers and industry-leading guest tutors, our courses offer an insight into Guildhall’s world-class learning environment in a fun and supportive setting. Designed for a range of ages and abilities and varying in length, from a few days to two weeks, they take place throughout the year, with Easter holiday courses, Summer Schools, and evening courses in term time.

We offer funding for selected courses via our Participation Bursaries.

New dates and courses are added frequently. Register your interest by joining our mailing list and be the first to hear about these.

Short Course FAQs

Who are Online Short Courses for?

Whether you’re thinking about learning something completely new, exploring a hobby or passion, or just brushing up on existing skills, there is a course for you! Guildhall School has transferred its most popular short courses to online and created a whole range of exciting new ones, working with tutors to ensure that they are just as enriching and memorable as they would be within the building.

How do I know if there is space on a course?

Choose the course you want to book from our list of courses. Once the course has reached maximum capacity, the course status will show ‘fully booked’ on the website and a waiting list will be available. Early booking is advised as capacity is limited. Places are booked on a first-come first-served basis.

Will any courses within the building be taking place? What about Guildhall Summer Schools?

We will let you know as soon as any of our programmes are safe to operate within the building or whether some of our courses, such as our Summer Schools, can be offered online. During these unprecedented circumstances, our first priority continues to be the health, safety and welfare of all our participants, staff and visitors. We are following the latest advice from the UK government, Public Health England and the NHS.
