About the Production Arts Course

Our Production Arts course is designed for young creatives (ages 14–18) who thrive on teamwork, problem solving, and brining ideas to life. Ideal for those with a passion for behind-the-scenes magic of theatre and live events, this course offers a dynamic introduction to the wide range of roles within Production Arts.

Students will explore the full creative process – from initial brainstorming and thematic research to mood-boarding, visualisation, and pitching concepts. Over the year, participants will gain hands-on experience in core areas such as:

  • Lighting & Sound
  • Stage Management
  • Theatre Design
  • Scenic Arts
  • Digital Media

Each half term focuses on a different discipline, and students will apply their new skills in the GYA King’s Cross end of year production, staged in Milton Court Concert Hall -  providing a real-world opportunity to contribute to a large scale show.

Whether you’re looking to build practical backstage skills, discover the hidden workings of a production, or take your first steps towards a creative career, this course offers and fun, inspiring and supportive environment. Learn from industry professionals and unleash your creativity in a collaborative setting where ideas take centre stage.

Please Note; To provide access to equipment and resources, Production Arts classes will take place at various locations throughout the year including - Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School-N1 9QG and Guildhall School of Music & Drama Venues-EC2.
