Biography

What's been your highlight during your time at Guildhall?

My highlight was being the sound operator for 'Provok'd' in my second year. This was a production entirely devised by The Acting Company and delved into race, sexuality, toxic masculinty and other hard hitting topics that needed to be performed on stage in a place like Guildhall so we can really start to make a change. I worked closely along side Peter Buffery, the sound designer, who was an incredible mentor throughout the process and I finished the allocation feeling humbled to have worked on something so important andM confident in the skills that I had picked up along the way like using the SD 10 and live mixing.

What other passions and projects have you enjoyed exploring during your time at Guildhall?

I've been involved in the NRG programme which is a networking community founded by ROBE. I went to PLASA with them in 2019 as a sales advisor and whilst there, I discovered that there's still a distinct lack of women in the industry; since then I have been conducting research into why that is in order to try and change it,  I've been meeting with female industry professionals to hear about their personal experiences and will be including a section in my  dissertation as to why having a greater diversity within the arts will ensure theatres' survival through the modernisation of today's media.

What's something you've learned that you feel will help you when you graduate?

I've learned that we have all chosen to work in this industry because we love what we do and are passionate about creating pieces of work that have the potential to inspire change or bring joy to so many people. 

What are you most interested in working in after you graduate?

I would love to work in an HR department within a theatre that helps to shape the culture of the organisation to help promote a more diversified and inclusive work place for everyone.
