Summer Holiday Course Overview
Develop your performing arts skills, meet like-minded people and let your creativity flourish, in this fun five day course for 10 to 18 year olds, packed full of workshops in music, drama, production arts and art & design.
The course will culminate in an exciting performance and exhibition on Friday afternoon, which will be shared with invited family and friends.
The course will be tailored around individual interests specified on the booking form. Please see more information about the workshops on offer:
Music
Genres include rock, pop, musical theatre, classical, jazz, music production, DJing, songwriting and singing.
Drama
Topics include acting, script work, devising and improvisation. Students are invited to bring audition pieces or plays they are keen to develop.
Production Arts
Explore a number of backstage roles, including stage lighting and stage management. Students will run the lighting and stage management of the final performance at the end of the week.
Art & Design
Workshops will give a fun introduction to the art of theatre set design, including model-making and performance design.
Individual instrumental, singing, acting, stage lighting and art lessons can be arranged during course for an additional cost. When applying, please let us know if this is something the applicant would be interested in.
Afternoon activities
In addition to their music, drama, production arts and art & design classes, each day students will also be able to choose from a range of fun activities to take part in during the afternoon.
These activities are 1-hour sessions, with options including crafts (including painting, drawing, clay, and making marbled paper), magic tricks, board games and chess, as well as sports such as football, rounders and cricket.
Taking place at Wellington School, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 8NT we’ll have access to their music, drama and art facilities.
This includes a music tech classroom for LogicPro tuition in music production and use of the Drama Studio, Art Department, Great Hall and Chapel.
The course runs from 9.30am–4pm. Morning drop-off is from 9am–9.30am and afternoon pick-up is from 4pm–4.30pm.
For an additional £9.50 per day, parents and carers can drop their children off from 8.30am–9am and pick up from 4.30pm–5pm. If arriving early or staying late, children will be in a supervised area where they can engage with their peers or have quiet time if they prefer.

Students will need to bring a packed lunch each day, to be eaten in the school's dining room or outdoors, weather permitting.

Fees:
The cost of the Summer Holiday Course is £395 per student, due in full before 1 August 2026.
Please note: individual lessons are at an extra cost of £27 per 30-minutes, and will be billed separately from the course fees.
Early Bird Offer
£50 discount for those who book before Saturday 13 June, provided full payment is received.
Extended Day Option
For an additional £9.50 per day, parents and carers can drop their children off between 8.30am–9am and pick up between 4.30pm–5pm. Please note, extended day fees will be billed separately from the course fees.
Bursaries
Means-tested fee bursaries are available and will enable students to have some or all of their course fees paid. Please let us know as soon as possible, by emailing gyataunton@gsmd.ac.uk, if you are interested in applying for a bursary.
