Frances studied cello and piano as a Junior at the Royal Academy of Music and then progressed to learn with Joan Dickson at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music. Having completed the Performers' Diploma in cello, Frances enjoyed an inspirational postgraduate year with the National Centre for Orchestral studies playing with different conductors such as Simon Rattle, Vernon Handley and Colin Davis. During the following years, Frances was part of a baroque ensemble and played with many orchestras in the South East, as well as teaching the 'cello.

Frances' fascination with child development and the importance of music led to a Primary PGCE and many years of rewarding and creative work in primary schools.

Frances is keen to impart the joy of music making and a love of the cello sound to all ages and abilities.
