About the Music Starts Here Course

Our beginners music course for ages 5–8 is the perfect introduction into music.

Through 45 minutes of group play each Saturday, children will explore different instruments and their own musicality, develop language and communication skills, grow in confidence and increase their ability to express themselves, in a supportive and safe environment.

In Reception and Year 1, children learn the fundamentals of music through singing, percussion, games and movement. In Years 2 and 3, this important developmental stage continues with additional emphasis on strummed instruments (e.g. ukulele) and wind instruments (e.g. ocarina and/or recorder). After a solid grounding in the fundamentals of music and music-making, we find that students learn faster in their individual lessons, if they choose to learn a musical instrument.
