Biography

Having graduated from Somerville College, Oxford, Kimon has continued to study, practise, perform and teach music all over the country.  Having taught in Bath, Loughborough, Rugby and London, he is now based in Taunton, and is teaching Piano at schools in Taunton and Wellington. 

Last year Kimon completed a PGDip at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the field of Jazz Piano.  Alongside his teaching career Kimon has performed in a variety of styles, on a multitude of keyboard and brass instruments (and harmonica).  He has gigged with Rock-Pop band “Gabriella and the Planets”, acted as compere/accordionist in Angeliki Petropetsioti’s theatrical piece “Youkali: The Pursuit Of Happiness", and continues to be MD and Pianist for Alejandro Postigo’s “Copla: The Musical” both on the West End and abroad. He has also contributed to London Lawyers’ Orchestra concerts on tuba/celeste alongside and is composer in residence and MD for Pleasure Dome Theatre Company’s summer performances of Shakespeare and Lorna Doone at the Valley of Rocks near Lynton, Exmoor.

In addition to his classical and jazz career, Kimon co-founded prog-rock band “Setria 3”, playing bass & synth and sometimes vocals on a 4-keyboard rig. The band recently released their debut album “Through The Wild Wood”.
