The Guildhall School of Music and Drama seeks to appoint exceptional vocal practitioners to join our distinguished and world-renowned Vocal and Opera Faculty.
We are looking for an outstanding educator, passionate about fostering exceptional talent, and dedicated to inspiring artistic individuality. As a teacher, they will promote and facilitate the development of a healthy, expressive and resilient vocal technique.
The ideal candidate will be a highly accomplished vocal practitioner with extensive experience of conservatoire-level or equivalent teaching. Providing one to one voice lessons and class teaching, they will offer pedagogical and artistic mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate students. They will have specific knowledge and experience of Western classical vocal music and opera and will have the capacity to embrace diverse cultural influences, contemporary trends and new directions for the future of vocal performance; we are looking for someone who will celebrate tradition, encourage innovation and will be broad-minded about career choices available to students.

HR Advisor
Guildhall School of Music & Drama

Salary Range: £44,110 to £49,140 per annum inclusive of London Weighting depending on experience.
We are looking for an experienced and confident HR Advisor to join our team. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, this role provides professional advice and support to managers and employees across designated departments, including both academic staff and professional services. Working collaboratively with HR colleagues, you will play a key role in delivering a comprehensive and effective HR service.
As a generalist HR Advisor, you will offer accurate guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practice, covering areas such as recruitment, contract changes, sickness absence management, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional with proven advisory-level expertise, capable of delivering pragmatic advice on HR policies, employee relations, sickness management, and contract variations. You will have a strong track record in managing recruitment campaigns, including senior-level appointments, and in guiding managers through interviews and selection processes. Highly organised and solution-focused, you will demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion, with in-depth knowledge of employment legislation and best practice, ideally supported by a CIPD qualification. Experience within Higher Education or the Arts sector, with a clear understanding of the HR issues specific to these environments, is essential.

Production Management Supervisor/Lecturer
Fixed Term 6 months, Full Time (35 hours per week)

We are now recruiting for Production Manager /Lecturer to join our dynamic Production & Design dept. The Production Manager/Lecturer plays a central role in supporting a diverse community of staff and students across a wide range of academic, creative, and production activities.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Associate Producer the Production Manager/Lecturer will teach Production Management and oversee School productions leading teams of Production and Design staff and students and liaising closely with colleagues from the departments of Music and Drama. The Production Management Lecturer works within the academic framework of the Production and Design department to maintain the highest possible production values and support effective student learning.
Key responsibilities include
- To production manage a proportion of School productions, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment, in conjunction with students on the Production and Design degree programmes, working closely with the Associate Producer.
- To oversee the build, fit up, on stage rehearsals, first night and strike of productions which are allocated to them.
- To work with freelance directors, designers and lighting designers, interpreting their requirements, advising on the safety and feasibility of designs and ensuring best value and high production standards throughout the production process.
- Subsequent to productions to oversee the appropriate storage or disposal of production elements in accordance with departmental policy on sustainability.
- To develop, design, deliver and review the syllabus and materials for the teaching of production management at all levels of the programme. To teach, assess and supervise students working in the department, in the form of classroom and production-based teaching which may occur concurrently.
- Actively seek to implement the City of London’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy in relation to the duties of the post, and at all times give due regard to the health and safety of both themselves and others when carrying out their duties.

About You:
Educated to degree level with relevant professional experience
Experienced as a professional Theatre Production Manager

Movement Tutor (Virtual Environment)

We are looking for a fixed-term, hourly-paid Movement Tutor to work along with the Head of Movement and team tutors in the Drama department. The role holder will be responsible for delivering various aspects of movement for virtual and digital environments within the remit of the BA Acting programme. They will play an integral role in the learning experience offered to students within the department, ensuring that the teaching allows students to meet the learning aims and objectives of the relevant modules. They will ensure their work is technically well-grounded, relevant, inspiring, progressive and in context of the rapidly evolving arts industry and wider world. In addition to this, the candidate must demonstrate a proven commitment to inclusive practice and be able to work with confidence across a broad and diverse range of educational and performance-related practices.

We are now recruiting a Drama, Production & Design Administration Officer to join our dynamic Drama, Production & Design team. The team plays a central role in supporting a diverse community of staff and students across a wide range of academic, creative, and production activities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Production Arts & Drama Administration Manager (Programmes), you will provide high-quality administrative support to academic staff and students across both departments. The role offers a varied and autonomous workload, with the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution within a busy and creative environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the end-to-end student assessment process in line with academic regulations, deadlines, and quality assurance requirements, including preparation of templates, mark entry, and feedback distribution.
- Maintain accurate, secure, and compliant student records, ensuring high standards of data quality, confidentiality, and adherence to retention policies.
- Monitor and record student engagement, escalating concerns appropriately and ensuring staff are informed of relevant learning support arrangements while maintaining confidentiality.
- Use specialist systems and databases (e.g. student records systems and virtual learning environments) to ensure data consistency, resolve issues, and respond to student and staff enquiries within agreed timeframes.
About You
This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
We are looking for a highly organised, detail-focused and proactive professional with experience of student records and assessment administration within UK Higher Education. The ideal candidate will be confident working with data and systems, and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting tight deadlines. They will have strong communication skills and the ability to handle a range of enquiries and casework in a clear, professional and customer-focused manner. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, they will be adaptable, numerate, and confident using digital systems and Microsoft Office. We are seeking an experienced, calm and compassionate Residential Summer Schools Welfare Officer to take a central role in safeguarding and supporting under‑18 participants attending our Residential Drama Summer Schools. This is a key pastoral position, responsible for ensuring the safety, wellbeing and emotional care of young people living on site throughout the programme.
The Welfare Officer is a fully residential role during delivery, based at Freemen’s School in Surrey. The role acts as the central point of responsibility and coordination for residential welfare and safeguarding matters, working closely with the Open Programmes team and Residential Summer School Team to ensure participants are safe, supported, and appropriately cared for throughout their stay. You will act as the named welfare contact for participants, providing day‑to‑day pastoral support and overseeing wellbeing outside of teaching hours. This includes morning routines, evenings, overnight supervision, arrival and departure days, and critical transition points during the programme. You will be a visible, approachable and trusted adult presence.
Working closely with the Open Programmes team and the wider Residential Summer Schools team, you will coordinate safeguarding practice within the residential setting, maintain accurate and confidential welfare records, and liaise with tutors, assistants and families where appropriate. You will also provide first aid, support access to medical care when needed, and offer guidance and informal supervision to Residential Summer Schools Assistants during evenings and weekends.
We are looking for someone with significant experience working with young people in a residential, education or pastoral context, strong safeguarding knowledge, and a confident, supportive approach to managing sensitive situations. A current enhanced DBS check, safeguarding training and first aid qualification are essential. You should be organised, observant and resilient, with the ability to work collaboratively and remain calm in a busy residential environment.

Junior Guildhall Trumpet Teacher

Junior Guildhall has a vacancy for a Trumpet Teacher from September 2026 on the Music Course (11–18 year olds) at Silk Street, Barbican. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated, outstanding musician with a proven track record of working with talented students to be involved in this specialist music school on Saturdays. Teaching will include delivering 1:1 tuition to students across the age range as well as the opportunity for ensemble coaching. Currently the role involves up to 3 hours of work although this is expected to develop further over time.

Scenic Construction Lecturer

We are seeking an outstanding individual to take up the post of Scenic Construction Lecturer.
You will be responsible for teaching Stage and Scenic Construction, involving set building working with a range of materials and processes, the design and construction of scenic items, the use of specialist equipment and technology, and workshop management. You will supervise students undertaking production and project work and overseeing safe working practices. You will have extensive industry experience that demonstrates continued high standing in the profession. You will also contribute to wider teaching, tutoring and assessment activities in the department. You will have experience of working in higher education settings; a good understanding of the needs of students in a complex learning environment; and the ability to represent your discipline in the public domain through professional/industry sector engagement, consultancy, and/or research (which could include R&D in new processes and equipment).
The Scenic Construction Lecturer works predominantly in the Design Realisation Pathway, which includes Prop-Making, Scenic Art, and Scenic Construction. The Production and Design Department is responsible for BA Production Arts, BA Performance Design and MA Collaborative Theatre Production and Design; a series of short courses and outreach activities; and extensive production activity in the School’s programme of public-facing performances and events. We work closely on a range of productions (including operas, dramas, site-specific and digital works) with other departments at Guildhall and (through Guildhall Production Studios) a range of external and commercial partners. Our students learn through workshop-based activities, study and intensive production and practice. They have opportunities to extend their knowledge by working on pathways other than their major area of study, and to develop their own interests and creative agency through independent projects. The Department is values-led and promotes diversity and inclusivity along with sustainable practices.
