Book your place to join Guildhall Young Artists Norwich for an exciting Open Day taking place at their new home, Wymondham High Academy, Norwich.
Come and meet tutors and other students, enjoy live performances and interactive workshops, and explore the top of the range facilities on offer at the school including drama studios, percussion room and a professional recording studio.
Taster sessions, open classes and Q&As will give you a real flavour of what to expect from our vibrant Saturday centre. Take a look at the full schedule below.
Guildhall Young Artists Norwich is part of Guildhall School’s network of centres across the country, providing inspiring performing and production arts training for children and young people aged 4–18.

09:00 – 09:30 Open Classes / Rehearsals / Tours
• Chamber Choir – Advanced level (audience welcome)
• Music Discovery Workshop – Beginner, ages 8–11 (runs until 09:40)
• Tour of Centre – (includes Theory & Aural Lessons)
09:30 – 10:00 Open Classes / Rehearsals / Tours
• Advanced Jazz – Advanced level (runs until 10:30, audience welcome)
• Choir – Any age or ability (audience welcome)
• Music Starts Here Workshop – Beginner, ages 3–4 (09:45–10:30)
• Drama Discovery Workshop – Beginner, ages 8–11 (09:45–10:20)

• Fusion Band Workshop – Age 8-18, any ability, or instrument
• Tour of Centre – (includes String Quartets)
10:35 – 11:20 Open Classes / Rehearsals / Tours
• Jazz Band – Intermediate–Advanced level (audience welcome)
• Advanced String Chamber Music – Advanced, bowed strings
• Music Starts Here Workshop – Beginner, ages 4–5
• Musical Theatre Workshop – Beginner–Intermediate, ages 8+
• Improv Band Workshop – Age 8-18, any ability, or instrument
• Advanced Acting & Physical Theatre – Advanced drama
• Tour of Centre – (includes Sight Reading class)

• A short informal concert by senior London students from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. All welcome.

• Intro to Jazz Workshop – Intermediate
• Drama Starts Here Workshop – Beginner, ages 5–7
• Acting for Stage – Intermediate–Advanced drama, ages 11+
• Percussion Workshop – Any age, ability, or instrument
• Musicianship Workshop – Beginner–Intermediate, ages 8–11 (any instrument)
• Tour of Centre – (includes Flute Choir & Composition class)
12:40 – 13:25 Orchestra Workshop & Performance / Open Classes
• Orchestra Workshop & Welcome Talk – All ages, abilities, and instruments
• Acting for Screen Workshop – Intermediate–Advanced drama, ages 11+ (joins Welcome Talk at 13:10)
• Music Starts Here Workshop – Beginner, ages 6–8
13:25 – 13:40 Break / Meet the Head of Centre
• An informal chance to meet Thomas Shelbourn (Head of GYA Norwich), the Geraldine Evans (Deputy Head of GYA Norwich), and Nikki Shepperd (Deputy Director of Guildhall Young Artists). Light refreshments will be available.
13:40 – 14:40 Advanced Professional Skills
• Music Theory & Professional Skills – Advanced, any instrument (with Guildhall senior students and industry professionals)
• Creative Writing & Professional Skills – Advanced drama (with Guildhall senior students and industry professionals)
